Story Telling Yoga.
Our Storytelling Yoga curriculum transforms early literacy into a dynamic, multi-sensory experience. By physically embodying narratives through mindful movement, toddlers build a foundational connection to literature while developing the executive function and self-regulation critical for future academic success. This intentional integration of body and mind fosters both core physical strength and a deep-seated love for reading.

Mission
Storytelling Yoga: An immersive literacy program where mindful movement meets oral narrative. We help young children build a deeper bond with books, physical resilience, and the social-emotional regulation necessary for a smooth transition to kindergarten and beyond.
Additional benefits.
Development of "Executive Function"
Storytelling yoga requires children to follow a sequence of events while controlling their bodies, which strengthens:
-
Working Memory: Remembering the next pose in the sequence of the story.
-
Inhibitory Control: Learning to be still during a "quiet" part of the narrative versus moving during an "active" part.

Crossing the Midline
Many yoga poses involve crossing the body’s center line (e.g., touching a hand to the opposite foot). This is a critical milestone for:
-
Pre-Writing Skills: It coordinates the left and right hemispheres of the brain, which is essential for future tasks like writing from left to right across a page.
-
Physical Coordination: Improving the neural communication needed for complex sports and fine motor tasks.
Vocabulary "Anchoring"

When a child performs a physical action while hearing a specific word (for example, "reaching" while hearing the word "soar"), the word becomes physically anchored in their memory. This leads to faster vocabulary acquisition and better reading comprehension later on.
