Admissions Calendar

Billy Dalwin Preschool is in session from the first week in September through mid-June. All groups gradually transition into their classrooms at the beginning of the school year. Children come in smaller groups and stay for a slightly shorter time during the first week. This is important for children who have been to school before because they are adjusting to new teachers, classmates, routines, and physical spaces. Our primary focus is to provide a program that supports the healthy emotional development of the children.

Education

Average School Day

In the 2024 - 2025 school year, the school day runs from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm or 3:30 pm.

There are options for Early Birds (before-school care) from 8:00 am-9:00 am, and Keshet (after-school care) 3:30 pm-5:30 pm.

Spaces in Early Birds and Keshet are limited and assigned on a first come basis.

Before and after-school options coincide with your contracted hours for the year (three, four, or five days) and require a yearly contract.

Three, Four & Five-day Options

Toddler & Preschool:

We offer three, four and five-day options for toddler and preschool-aged children ages 18 months to four years old on or before September 1 of each school year.

Pre-K:

A five-day option is offered for children who will be attending kindergarten the following school year.

Summer Program

We offer weekly options to attend Billy Dalwin for eight weeks each summer. The summer program is in addition to our school year program.

Families enrolled for the school year are not required to attend in the summer to hold their space for the next school year.

Only children registered for the school year may attend the summer program.

Summer registration is open December 1st of each year and requires a one-week deposit with enrollment.

Vacations & Holidays

Vacations and holidays typically coincide with Jewish holiday observance and those of the Lexington school system, with some adjustments for professional development days and family conferences. A monthly calendar is created  for families that includes special events and regularly scheduled activities.
